We were looking for a classic Newport vibe with a hip twist and this was it. Had a rough day but walking through the doors we were immediately transformed. The decor, lighting and vibe were cool. The bartender (truly a classy professional) JESS, guided us on cocktails AND a perfect selection from the food menu. It was the perfect night that we needed! THANK YOU JESS and CHEERS!!!

Excellent customer service and I love their cocktails!! You can never go wrong with this place. The place has a cool vibe and it's always busy. Definitely make a reservation. This is my go-to place to take people for special occasions or to catch up with friends!

Very tasty and filling! If you're looking for authentic.. probably not the place for you, but overall the food and drinks were tasty especially if you're starving and want something a bit filling. The best thing on the menu was hands down the lettuce wraps. The chicken satay was good, but the peanut sauce on top was goopy and literally no angle could be photographed to not make it look like doodoo but it was still very good. I would also recommend the hung kong lemon chicken. The walnut shrimp was quite small in proportion for the price. Would def come back and try other things. I also think the rice she gave us was either over cooked or in fact in the coconut cream (which we said we did not want)

Wow, wow, wow, what a find!! We came across Starfish by coincidence and man, I'm glad we did. It's a cute little place with phenomenal Asian food. They have different options, but what we liked in particular was the small plates, which were like Asian tapas. We shared a bunch of them, like the Peking Duck Bao buns, the Korean tacos, the Bahn mi sliders but the stars of the show were the mussels in Thai curry sauce. We also had some of the dumplings, which were great too. The staff was really nice and accommodating. The restaurant has a nice, modern vibe without being pretentious. Next time we're in newport beach, we will definitely come back!

my lady and i couldn't decide on what to eat and i was scrolling on yelp as i normally do and landed on starfish! takeout experience was quick and easy. the food was delicious, we ordered the korean tacos, some sushi and the chicken lettuce wraps. each item had a pop of flavor and was not overpowering. the fish was very fresh and everything was cooked to perfection. i will for sure come back here and enjoy the ambiance of dining in.

We came here to celebrate our anniversary. We've been here multiple times since this place has such great foods, but Chandler really set the bar high tonight. We had such a great experience with her as a waitress. She was so knowledgeable about the menu, had such a bubbly personality, and made our night so enjoyable. I HIGHLY recommend trying the chili fire wontons (ask for a glass of ice.. trust me) and the wagyu burgers. Best sushi spot by far. Nobu doesn't even compare. This place is way better.

Amazing happy hour! Played great music and service was good. Wish there was a little more room inside the restaurant but happy they take reservations. My friends and I enjoyed all the food we ordered and shared: Korean tacos, chili fire wontons, spicy ahi tuna roll, and chicken lettuce wraps. I loved the chili fire wontons especially but one of my friends thought it was too spicy. For drinks, I had the Thai Me Down, which had the perfect amount of sweetness. Also, I typically don't like rims from salt to sugar but this was my first time liking it! My friend tried the Komodo's Bite Cocktail from the Spring Additions, which had a strong taste of ginger and looked really pretty. Can't wait to come back and try more food and drink items from the menu!

Gonna love great food at Starfish in Newport Beach (Orange County). This is their second location (smaller one). Their original location is in Laguna Beach which I first went to 6 years ago. I must say I was hooked on their tasty food. I came here last Sunday night after work for some dinner. My go for drink is a Laguna Lemon Drop which is named after a beach town called Laguna Beach. Really good drink to get nowadays. Tasty. For dinner, I ordered a crispy lobster spring roll and shrimp dumplings. As soon I got my orders, it looks soooo good. I really love the presentation. For the spring roll, comes with 4 pieces, I took a bite, I was quite wow'd by the amazing flavors. Feels like I'm enjoying a rich and satisfying life just by eating the spring roll. Dumpling was stunning. Tasty and delicious. Even though portion size can be small, size isn't that important. What important is the quality of the meal which I expect from every single upscale restaurant. Yes, I'm very big on quality. Quality was excellent. That's what I want. My previous visit which was almost 2 months ago, I didn't get a chance to talk about it. But finally talking about it. I ordered crab wonton and Lobster Macadamia Roll. On my yelp review from 6 years ago (Laguna Beach), I talked about how great the Lobster Macadamia Roll were. It was sooo delicious. At this location, they never disappointed me one bit. Soooo good. Crab wonton was also good. It's something different to try once in a while. Service here was amazing. There's nothing like getting great service from the server and bartender. Now I've been in the restaurant industry for about 7 years. I look out for everything when it comes to great service and the respect to the customers. Overall, 5 stars for everything I've expected.
